Mobile Tv In Cameroon with Nexttel MobiTV

Indeed the 3G technology is real with Nexttel Cameroon.  Nexttel is making great improvement with the Mobile Tv technology  .This permits Nexttel subscribers to follow their favorite TV channels, watch videos and other on their mobile phones without a television.

 What is Mobi TV?

Well this simply means ‘’Mobile television’’. 
The Mobile TV service or the Mobi TV  is simply  a    service that permits you to watch television on a mobile device.
Nexttel is the first telecom company to introduce this service in Cameroon .This technology will thus help Cameroonians to have a ''taste'' of the latest Technology such as the service provided by T-Mobile in the US and other countries.
This service is getting popularity especially in the towns of Yaoundé and Douala since it is cheap and reliable.  You know we like ‘’Njoh’’. 

MobiTV a solution to everyone.

With the network coverage and quality network has, the MobiTV will go a long  way to help those in the rural areas to enjoy some channels which city dwellers get from TNT Africa, Canal + and other  cable companies .

 What are the requirements?

=A 2.5G , 3G or 4G phone.

=Nexttel simcard

You can watch TV on any operating system ANDROID, iOS , windows and other smart phones operating system. I have used the service on Nokia ASHA .

 Let us get to what Nexttel has to offer with the Mobile Television service.

              The Cost of using the Mobile TV service.

     There are different packages available for subscribers. You can enjoy the service with as low as 0 FCFA.

-Video on Demand packages.

 It cost 200 FCFA per month and 100 FCFA per week.

      - Free Videos are available when you visit mobitv.nexttel.cm.  

 Just check out videos and have fun. Note that to download these videos some coins will be deducted from your account. I think we should do this often to encourage those who are providing the videos too.  

The main video provider is Digicom Cameroon.

   

      -LIVE TV Package

At the moments the live TV packages available are as follows;

i.                    75 FCFA per day

ii.                  200 FCFA PER week

iii.                545 FCFA per month

Live TV packages are provided thanks to the partnership between Nexttel and TNT Africa.

We are not aware of any USSD coed as of now.  However you can send the following to the number  ‘’848’’

  

-         ‘’ON TNT’’ for Live TV  monthly subsription,

-         ‘’ ON1 TNT ‘’ for viettel Live TV weekly subscription. 

-         ‘’VOD ‘’   for video on demand  monthly subscription and

-         ‘’VOD1’’   for the Mobile TV weekly subscription.

    If you don’t want to be using the codes, simply Visit mobitv.nexttel.cm   and click on play on the Homepage and select the package of your choice.

For the moment these are the channels available for the Live TV.

Canal 2,Trace Africa ,BDS and sport 24.

Lately Nexttel announced that users will be able to watch channels like France 24,MovieMAX,TV5MONDE,BOOM TV,MBOA TV.MUZIK AND RT Documentary in addition to the existing channels. I believe they will be available shortly .

  What about the Other side?

-Subscribers seem not very satisfied with the service in terms of the TV channels available. In Facebook post on the Nexttel  page, customers requested for CRTV, Bein sport  AND super sport for them to give the service 10/10.

- Some videos the show on the homepage when clicked cannot be found.

- Some videos on the page are posted by unknown users.

-No clear explanation to users on how videos can be published on the plat from. 

AS you can see I don’t have much to say about the bad side of this service. The service is overall a great service available to all Cameroonians with a nexttel simcard.   There are many advantages of using this service.
